App Store Connect roles & permissions
StoreGit uses the App Store Connect API to retrieve listing history and rankings, save App Store metadata edits, and load App Store analytics. The access available to StoreGit depends on the role associated with your App Store Connect API key.
If StoreGit reports insufficient permissions, the API key’s role does not include the access this feature needs. Use the table below to see which roles can use each StoreGit tab.

Some roles can use Timeline and Rankings. Some roles can edit and save metadata in App Info. Some roles can use Analytics. A role needs access to all three to use every StoreGit tab.
Choose the least-privileged role that provides the StoreGit functionality you require. Admin is currently the only confirmed role that supports every StoreGit tab.
Timeline & Rankings
These two StoreGit tabs share listing-history and keyword-position access:
- Timeline shows a history of what changed in your listing.
- Rankings tracks keyword positions in App Store search.
If this column is not supported for your role, StoreGit cannot load the data those tabs need. App Info also uses this listing data to show the current metadata.
App Info
The App Info tab is filled with listing metadata StoreGit already fetched for Timeline. This column covers editing those fields and saving the changes to App Store Connect. If it is not supported for your role, you can still view App Info when Timeline access is available, but StoreGit cannot save listing changes.
Analytics
The Analytics tab shows App Store performance StoreGit retrieves from App Store Connect — such as impressions, page views, downloads, and conversion. If this column is not supported for your role, StoreGit cannot load that reporting data.
How to change your access
App Store Connect roles and API key access are managed in App Store Connect. For a Team API key, you choose a role when you generate the key. That access level cannot be edited later — revoke the key and generate a new one with the role you need, then reconnect it in StoreGit. If you use an Individual API key, change that user’s App Store Connect role instead.
