StoreGit is a Mac app that keeps the history of your App Store metadata (name, subtitle, keywords, description, screenshots and icon) and lines it up with your keyword ranks and App Store analytics. Think of it as Git for App Store metadata.

App Store Connect mostly shows your metadata as it is now. StoreGit keeps every version it sees, so you can look back at what you changed and when.

It works alongside App Store Connect. You still manage builds, releases and submissions there.

• A Mac with macOS 26 or later
• An App Store Connect account with at least one app
• An App Store Connect API key: its Issuer ID and its .p8 file

1. Sign in to App Store Connect and open Users and Access.
2. Choose Integrations, then App Store Connect API, and stay on Team Keys.
3. Click Generate API Key, name it and choose a role. Which role?
4. Download the .p8 file. Apple lets you download it only once.
5. Copy the Issuer ID shown above your keys.
6. In StoreGit, add the .p8 file and paste the Issuer ID. StoreGit fills in the Key ID from the file when it can, and asks for it when it can't.

The lowest role that covers what you use:

• Timeline and Rankings: Developer
• Editing in App Info: App Manager or Marketing
• Analytics: Sales and Reports or Finance, usually as a second key

Admin covers everything in one key, but gives StoreGit more access than it needs. Find your setup

No role below Admin can read both your metadata and your analytics reports. Instead of one Admin key, StoreGit can use two narrower keys: a Metadata Key (Developer, App Manager or Marketing) and an Analytics Key (Sales and Reports or Finance).

You can add the Analytics Key later, in Settings › Account.

StoreGit Pro adds Rankings, Analytics, every app on your account, and a daily refresh of your ranks in the background.

The first two apps you open on an App Store Connect account. They stay your free apps, so if you subscribe and later go back to Free, the same two stay open.

When a plan includes a free trial, StoreGit shows it before you subscribe. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you won't be charged.

Apple handles StoreGit Pro billing. To cancel, open System Settings, click your name, choose Media & Purchases, then manage Subscriptions. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.

Yes. Sign in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple Account, open StoreGit, and choose Restore in Settings › StoreGit Pro.

On your Mac, in StoreGit's sandbox folder: one database per App Store Connect account with your metadata history, ranks and analytics. Your API keys are in the macOS Keychain.

StoreGit has no server of its own that stores your App Store data. Read the Privacy Policy

No. Your Issuer ID, Key ID and .p8 key stay in your Mac's Keychain. StoreGit uses them on your Mac to talk to Apple, and never sends them to us.

Only to Apple: App Store Connect for your apps, metadata and reports, and Apple's public App Store search for ranks.

Yes, anonymously, through TelemetryDeck: signals such as a tab opening or a sync succeeding, with the app and macOS versions. They never include your apps, metadata, keywords, ranks, analytics values or keys, and demo mode sends nothing.

To remove your keys, open Settings › Account and choose Delete All Keys. Your history stays on your Mac, and comes back if you reconnect with the same Issuer ID.

To remove everything, quit StoreGit, move it to the Trash, and delete its folder in ~/Library/Containers.

Partly. StoreGit can't rebuild a complete history from before you connect. It builds history from the snapshots it takes after that.

On the first sync, it loads the versions and localizations App Store Connect still has. Name and subtitle are the most limited, because App Store Connect mostly keeps only the live and in-progress values.

For every localization Apple provides:

• App name and subtitle
• Keywords and description
• Screenshots and app previews
• App icon
• Languages added or removed

StoreGit borrows Git's ideas but isn't a Git repository. Each version in Timeline is a snapshot of your metadata, and StoreGit shows what changed from the one before.

In App Info, Commit sends your edits to App Store Connect. You review exactly what will be sent first.

For text fields, Restore From Version copies an earlier release's value into the editor. Nothing reaches App Store Connect until you commit.

Screenshots and previews stay in your history, but can't be restored. StoreGit never restores a whole version on its own.

The day a keyword and country start being tracked. There's no official App Store rank history to fill in earlier days from.

Words from your name, subtitle and keyword field, in each tracked country's language and your app's primary language. You can add keywords of your own, and hide any you don't want.

App Store search results depend on the country: its language, your localization, the competition and how people search there. StoreGit tracks each country separately rather than one worldwide rank.

Every keyword in every country is a separate search. More countries take longer and put more load on Apple's search service. You can still check any other country by choosing it; it just isn't part of the daily refresh.

Your metadata is organized by language (en-US, ja), while ranks and analytics are organized by country. StoreGit matches each localization to its home country and lists those as Localized, so they're easy to pick. Apple doesn't define this grouping; it's StoreGit's.

Once a day per keyword and country. With Pro, StoreGit checks every day at the time you choose in Settings, even when its windows are closed.

From App Store Connect's analytics reports. StoreGit doesn't measure impressions, page views or downloads itself; it shows Apple's reports and keeps a copy on your Mac.

Rankings shows where your app appears for each keyword, from the day tracking starts. Analytics shows how your product page performs, including history Apple's reports already hold.

No. It shows what changed and what moved after, side by side. Competition, seasons, featuring and Apple's own search changes all move ranks too, so treat a pattern as a clue, not proof.

Apple doesn't say, and it varies. Give a change at least a couple of weeks before you judge it.

• Check the Issuer ID and the Key ID
• Make sure you chose the right .p8 file
• Check that the key's role covers the tabs you turned on
• Make sure the key hasn't been revoked
• Check your internet connection, then try again later if App Store Connect is having trouble

StoreGit lists the apps your API key can reach. Check that the key has access to the app and that you connected the right account, then sync again. Archived apps are under Archived in Manage Apps.

• StoreGit checks each keyword once per country per day
• The background refresh runs once a day at the time you choose, and needs Pro
• Countries outside your tracked list aren't refreshed automatically
• More keywords and countries take longer to finish

• Reports can take a day or two after StoreGit first requests them
• The key needs Sales and Reports, Finance or Admin access
• There may be no data yet for that period or country
• Today is never included, because Apple's reports arrive later
